Center for Coastal Studies
lecture series
The Provincetown Center for Coastal
Studies sponsors a lecture series, the
Ocean at Your Doorstep, Monday eve-
nings through April 10. The series is
held at the Provincetown Public Library
at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to
the public. The March 27 discussion is
with Scott Landry, who discusses the
techniques and technology of saving
large whales at sea.
Piercy to talk
Novelist and poet Marge Piercy will
read from her work and sign books May
4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cotuit Center for
the Arts. Tickets are $20 to $25.
All about Alaskan
scrimshaw
Dr.Stuart M. Frank speaks on "Alaskan
Scrimshaw: Happy Jack, Billy Billiken,
and the Nome School, 1892-1940" March
25 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Museums and
