Around the Cape Channel 17 to host exhibit Cape Cod Art Association mem- bers and instructors exhibit their works at Channel 17 on White's Path in South Yarmouth. Artists Odin Smith and Mary Moquin give gallery talks. On display through March 10. Mills exhibit Gene Mills exhibits his paintings at the Academy of Performing Arts, 120 Main St. in Orleans, through March 19 during the run of Oliver. Open studios and more in Mashpee Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon, through spring, the Art For Giving gallery, 27 Fountain St. in Mashpee Commons , will hold open studio time after which there will be a gentle critique. Use your own materials or the studio equip- ' ment. Admission is $12 to $18 and pre-registration is required by calling 508-477-2121. Ten percent of the proceeds go to charity. Art for Young People, ages 12 to 18, is held Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The fee is $12, and pre-registra- tion is required. Weaving exhibit in Brewster The Weaving Network presents the 7th Annual Weaving Exhibit at the Brewster Ladies' Library now through March 30, featuring 21 weavers. Works will be on display in the library auditorium. Falmouth Artists Guild Classes offered this winter at the Falmouth Artists Guild include acrylic, oil, watercolor, drawing, portraiture, pas- tels, digital photography, fiber and more. Faculty to exhibit The Creative Arts Center, Crowell Road in Chatham hosts the Spring Member Show March 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. The show runs through March 31. Spring classes in painting, drawing, ceramics and jewelry begin April 3. Creative Arts Center Rosalie Nadeau gives pastel fruit and floral still life painting demon- sration March 23 at 10 a.m. at the Creative Arts Center, Crowell Road in Chatham. Coffee and Danish at 9:30 a.m. The Spring Members Exhibition is on view March 12 through 31. An opening reception is March 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. New exhibits at CCMA As part of the 25 exhibits planned for its 25th year, the Cape Cod Museum of Art begins its showing of works by Joseph E. Enneking (1881- 1942), a well-known regional impres- sionist landscape painter, represented in major museums. Also on display is work by John Joseph Enneking. The exhibit runs through May 21. A recep- tion for the exhibit is March 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. At Cape Cod Museum of Art Classes and workshops for kids include comic book design, draw- ing, fun with clay, ocean art, water- color, monster making, art club and more at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis. Adult studio classes include white line printmaking, 3-D assemblage, stained glass , composition and color harmony painting, basic drawing, enamel- ing, and more. Roberta Hurlburt exhibits assemblages of found art through March 19. Cynthia Packard exhibits ten new large works , 12 ft. by 12 ft., through May 7. Call 508-385-4477 for information. A trip to Rhode Island to visit the Museum of American Illustration and The Breakers Mansion, with lunch at The Clarke Cooke House, is scheduled for May 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. $120 for members , $135 for non-members. Registra- tion deadline is April 28. Al Kochka discusses his research on Arnold Geissbuhler March 16 at 7 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays through May 22. Free March admission March into the Cape Cod Mu- seum of Natural History for free for the entire month of March, Wednesdays through Sundays. All are welcome. Camera club at art association The Cape Cod Art Association, Route 6A in Barnstable, now has a camera club. Meetings are at 7 p.m. every other Thursday at the CCAA when there will be guest speakers , critiques, contests, workshops , photo sessions and more. Group for youths The Barnstable Youth Commission and its Youth Empowered Through Learning Leadership advisory group meet at 2 p.m. every first and third Thursday in room 2108 at Barnstable High School when ages 13 through 19 are invited to discuss issues affecting the young people of Barnstable. German-American Club members meet March 12 Members of the German-Ameri- can Club generally meet the second Saturday at the Fraternal Lodge in Centerville. The March 12 meeting will feature a presentation on folk at- tire and customs from various regions in Germany by Karin Gottier. The $8 admission fee also covers homemade desserts, coffee and tea.
