AN ILL WIND
It was an ill wind that blew for Barnstable School Com-
mittee Wednesday night at the meeting session which saw the
committee wallow in the mire of defeat.
But, as is said of an ill wind , some good did come of it.
The suggestion made by contractor Bernard Wilber of Cent-
erville that a school building needs committee be established
to work on any building program undertaken by the school
committee became a resolution approved.
The need for such a committee has long been noted by
those who have watched the toil of many school committees
dealing with the overwhelming expansion program neces-
sary in Barnstable.
We hope that in the very near future the suggested com-
mittee will become a reality.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
American Girl Scouts will celebrate their 57th birthday
on March 12 during National Girl Scout Week. The theme of
the organizat ion for the years 1966-1069, Values To Hold,
Worlds To ^Explore, represents values held consistently for
nearly 60 years.
The three and a half million members of Girl Scouting
express their beliefs throug h daily living in service to their
own and neighboring communities , in their schools, hospitals
and wherever goodwill and dedication can be useful.
A Happy Birthday is extended to the many girls on Cape
Cod who have embraced the beliefs and values embodied in
the Girl Scout code of living.
