Movies at the Sturgis
Bring the family for free films based
on children's books Thursdays at 4
p.m. The setting is Sturgis Library on
Route 6A in Barnstable, and the juice

4Cs Foreign Film Series
returns
Check out foreign films this winter
at 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall A at Cape
Cod Community college. The screen-
ings are on Tuesdays through May 9,
with a break on March 14. Born Into
Brothels , an intimate look into the
brothels of Calcutta, as seen through
the eyes of the children, plays March
7.
Woods Hole film fest
Films from the Woods Hole Film
Festival will be featured in a series
of dinners and screenings this winter
at Cap'n Kidd's restaurant in Woods
Hole. Dinner is served from 5:30 to
7:15 p.m. with the film shown at 7:30
p.m. Admission is $25 per person
and includes dinner and the movies,
which play March 4 and 18; April 1,
15 and 29; and May 6 and 20. For

Weekly films and food
The Island Merchant, 10 Ocean St.
in Hyannis, has screenings of popular
films every Tuesday evening. Food
and drink samples related to the film
are served on the side at 7 p.m. The
screenings are at 7:30 p.m. Admis-
sion for the package is $15 or you
can order off the menu.

Getting dangerous
The Cape's Most Dangerous Band
competition begins this evening at
Sundancers in West Dennis. Fifteen
local cover bands are competing for
the title, performing three a night for
the next six weeks, with the finals
scheduled for April 14. The contest is
sponsored by radio station Pixy 103.
Hear the sounds of Brazil
From Villa-Lobos to Jobim and be-
yond, the Chatham Chorale will pres-
ent the music of Brazil March 4 at
8 p.m. and March 5 at 3 p.m. at the
Mattacheese Middle School in West
Yarmouth. Performers will include a
Brazilian dance band from Boston
and dancers from Dennis-Yarmouth
High School. For tickets ($25 and

Lights in Woods Hole
The Shirim Klezmer Orchestra per-
forms rocking renditions of classical
klezmer March 5 at the Woods Hole
Folk Music Society at 7:30 p.m. in
the Woods Hole Folk Music Society.

for seniors. The March 19 program
features Matt & Shannon Heaton and
the Blue Skies Band playing a roster
of Irish tunes.
Paddy Reilly in Concert
Paddy Reilly will be in concert at
the Cape Cod Irish Village in West
Yarmouth, March 5 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the troops in
Iraq.
