has been strong and incomes
are up, and the gross domes-
tic product continued slow
growth. Consumer sentiment,
a measure of workers' per-
ceived job security and job
opportunities ,fell in 2001 and
2002, but recovered somewhat
in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, the
index fell promptly after Hur-
ricane Katrina,but rebounded
fairly quickly, Kelliher said.
Oil prices remainhigh, put-
ting a chill on many sectors.
"Although oil is a tax on
this economy, it's not a net
negative , globally," Kelliher
said. "Somebody wins and
somebody loses."
With continued safeguards
against inflation , the U.S.
economy should continue
moderate, steady growth in
2006, the CFO advised. The
Federal Reserve Board is
likely to raise interest rates
two more times, probably
topping out at around 5.5
percent, slightly higher than
the Fed'sprediction. Kelliher
said most economists believe
that the new Fed chairman,
Ben Bernanke,willbe at least
as prudent aleader ashispre -
decessor, Alan Greenspan .

She said they were looking
for committed individuals
who were interested in work-
ing in the medical field. This
certificate training program
sounded like the perfect op-
portunity to start anew career
for qualified individuals.
Kathleen was delighted to
be accepted into our program.
Theclassestook place atUpper
Cape Cod Regional Technical
School, Evening Program. She
says "Thank you to the Cape

Healthcare Partnership, the
wonderful teachers at Upper
Cape Cod Regional Technical
School , Evening Program ,
Cape Cod Healthcare, Career
Opportunities and Falmouth
Hospital for the opportunity
to advance my current skills
in a field where a slow down
in business is unlikely in the
near future ".
The program is continuing
and will not be completed
until this summer. Graduates
from the classroom training
portion have completed their
courses at different times so
that the paid internships are
not all taking place at once. I
will report on the programs
full results when we have
finished the project. I expect
that the completed resultswill
be as encouraging asthis mid
project report .

said his wife Ann Marie who
expressed her enthusiasm for
this latest endeavor.
Cotton became interested
in the real estate field as a
child watching new homes
being constructed in Osterville
where he spent his childhood.
"I studied finance in college
because atthe timethey didn't
offer real estate," he said.
When he was 19 he became
licensed andlooked into work-
ing in Boston.
"I really loved the Cape,
though, and wanted to come
back home," said Cotton. At
the time his father allowed
him to operate out of a bay in
his plumbing supply business
where Jackmade hisownsigns.
"From there it grew into Cot-
ton RE and now Sotheby's,"
Cotton explained.
Cotton believes what set his
company apart from others on
Cape Cod wastheir dedication
to their clientele. "We always
put our clients first ,"he said.
Both Cotton and his wife
look forward to a successful
future for the center."It is our
hope that this campus will
become the source of renewal
and recharging for those who
really care about the real es-
tate profession here on Cape
Cod,"he said.
