Pirate wannabees invited to attend A Pirate's Life Concert on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. then on Feb. 22 there will be a pirate costume workshop for grades 2 to 4 at 2 p.m. then on Feb. 23 youngsters are invited to make pirate gear. Cape Cod Art Association The Cape Cod Art Association, 3480 Route 6A in Barnstable, is offer- ing courses in watercolor painting, oil painting, life drawing, digital pho- tography and more. The Association is accepting student members ages 14 to 22 with a membership fee of $15 a year, which includes discounts on classes, newsletter subscription and ability to exhibit and sell work. Craftsmen wanted The Society of Cape Cod Crafts- men is now accepting applications for membership in the organization. Open studios and more in Mashpee Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon, through spring, the Art For Giving gallery, 27 Fountain St. in Mashpee Commons, will hold open studio time after which there will be a gentle critique. Use your own materials or the studio equip- ment. Admission is $12 to $18 and pre-registration is required by calling 508-477-2121. Ten percent of proceeds goes to charity. Art for Young People, ages 12 to 18, is held Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The fee is $12, and pre-registra- tion is required. A full-day watercolor workshop for beginners will be held Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $48, or $60 if you use studio materials; call to pre-register. Artists reception in Yarmouth Artists from Eastwind Gallery in Orleans exhibit their work through March 10 at Mayflower Place in Yarmouth. Falmouth Artists Guild Classes offered this winter at the Falmouth Artists Guild include acrylic, oil, watercolor, drawing, portraiture, pastels, digital photography, fiber and more. New at Cape Cod Museum of Art Fall classes and workshops for kids include comic book design, drawing, fun with clay, ocean art, watercolor, monster making, art club and more at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis. Adult studio classes include white line printmaking, 3-D assem- blage, stained glass, composition and color harmony painting, basic drawing, enameling, and more. Paul Schulenburg and John Grillo exhibit through Feb. 26 in celebration of the museum's 25th anniversary. Roberta Hurlburt exhibits assemblages of found art through March 19. A trip to Newport to visit the National Museum of American Illustration, The Break- ers Mansion with lunch at The Clarke Cooke House, is scheduled for May 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. $120 for members, $135 for non-members.
