Check out Chicken Run Jan. 31 at

Free movies at the senior
center
The Barnstable Senior Center,
Route 28 in Hyannis, hosts screen-
ings Monday and Friday afternoons
at 1 p.m. Free. Jan. 27 The Greatest
Game Ever Played, the true story of
an upset victory that changed the
sport of golf, is shown. Renee Zell-
weger and Catherine Zeta-Jones star
in Chicago on Jan. 30.
Woods Hole film fest
Films from the Woods Hole Film
Festival will be featured in a series
of dinners and screenings this winter
at Cap'n Kidd's restaurant in Woods
Hole. Dinner is served from 5:30 to
7:15 p.m. with the film shown at 7:30
p.m. Admission is $25 per person
and includes dinner and the movie.
On the 28th, there's a double feature:
Other People's Pictures, about col-
lectors of abandoned snapshots and
Packrat, a personal look at a family's
obsession with stuff. The next film is
shown on Feb. 4. For reservations,

Weekly films and food
The Island Merchant, 10 Ocean St.
in Hyannis, has screenings of popular
films every Tuesday evening. Food
and drink samples related to the film
are served on the side at 7 p.m. The

Barnstable High School welcomes
the All Cape Music Festival Feb. 4 at

area high school performers, includ-

Bluegrass bonanza
Northern Lights returns to the First
Encounter coffee house, 220 Sa-
moset Road in Eastham, Jan. 28 to
perform bluegrass, jazz, soul, gospel,

A musical celebration for Mozart's
250th birthday is held Jan. 27 at 8

strings and harpsichord are featured.
Wine and hors d'oeuvres served.

Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater
brings back its winter reading series
at Willy's Gym on Route 6 in Eastham
when staged readings of new and
original plays are presented. Cock-
tails are served at 6 p.m. followed by
dinner at 6:30 p.m. The readings are
at 8 p.m. Jan. 27 and 28 the read-
ing will be of John Kolvenback's On
An Average Day, the dark comedy
of two brothers reunited after 23
years. A World with Snow, the story
of a young woman and her boyfriend
who break into her parents' home
only to discover family secrets that
could impact her father, is staged on
Feb. 3 and 4. Austin Pendleton stars.
