CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Mrs. Orville BurrowB and daugh- ter Claire, of Qulncy and Philip pfelser, also of Qulncy, were Sat- urday guests of her sister, Mrs. Artemus Griffin. As it was Mrs. Griffin 's birthday a party of ten enjoyed the baked bean supper served at the Parish hall , after which they attended the whist party and dance at Grange Hall in Kast Sandwich. At refreshment time, the honor guest was presented a beautifully decorated birthday cake, iced in pink und white. Mrs. Burrows , who formerly lived here , hadn't been in the Parish Hall since high school days, when they served suppers In the basement. She met many old friends whom she hadn 't Reen for many years. There should be a good attend- ance at church Sunday evening as Rev. Peter Palches will present the film, "Beyond Our Own ", a portray- al of the spiritual struggles of a young professional man. The film Is produced by the Protestant Film Commission and should be most in- teresting. YOUTH FELLOWSHIP NOTES The young people who attended the Youth Fellowship meeting held in the Ostervllle Community Church at -1 o'clock Sunday after- noon , report a wonderful time. Rev. Stephen Smith of Chatham was guest speaker and held the rapt attention of his audience. Re- freshments were served by the host church. Special notice: Mrs. Adele Jones , chairman of the Youth Fellowship group here , wlsheB to call the at- tention of all members to the Sat- urday trip to East Proviridence, R. I., meeting to be held at the Haven Methodist Church there. The speaker will be Mrs. Joseph Foley, formerly of the Philippines , who was Interned at Sana Tomas prison during the war. All members wishing to go will meet at the church here at 8:45 Saturday morning, Jan. 29. The girls are asked to pack a box lunch for two. CELEBRATES SIXTH BIRTHDAY Maureen Jones celebrated her sixth birthday on Wednesday. Jan. 19, with a family party at her home. Valentine decorations were i used and Valentino candy hearts decorated the birthday cake. PERSONALS Your reporter Is back on the job again, returning; Wednesday from a ten days ' stay at the Cape Cod Hospital, where she underwent a major operation. Her grateful thanks to so many friafldfi who took time out to send the beautiful cards and letters. Through the thoughfulness of daughters , Fran- ces and Diana, the news went iu as usual. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. ami Mrs.Leonard Fish of New- town were Mrs. George Champion and Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Cham- pion of Newport , It. I.; Mr. and Mis. In the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fish and son David, of Cotult and Mr. and Mrs. Prescott Fish and son of Center- ville called at the Fish home to visit their mother, Mrs. Iliiainah Fish, who is confined to her bed most of the time, due to her ad- vanced age. Miss Edith Hallett is spending several days with friends in Mans- field. Mr. and Mrs. Valtheas Paquin, daughter Christine, and grandson , Daniel Butts , and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Foamier, all of New Bed- ford, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Clifford. Mr. Pa- i|uln was surprised with a birthday cake made by Mrs. Gilford which she decorated with pink , green and white roses motifs as Sunday was his natal day.
