MORTIM ER Mrs. Abbie N. Mortimer , 0G, wife of Ernest D. Mortimer and a resi- dent of this village since 1930, died in the Cape Cod Hospital on Fri- day, January 14. She was horn in Plymouth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter , Mrs. Benjamin A. Hotchkiss of Wuter- loo, Iowa; a son , Elwin D. Morti- mer of Fall River , and three grand- children. ARTHUR W. TONKS Funeral services for Arthur Wil- liam Tonks, 77, who died at the Cape Cod Hospital on Wednesday, were held at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis on Saturday, January 15. Born in Richmond , Province of Quebec, Canada , Mr. Tonks lived in Lowell and was a resident of this village since 1935. He is sur- vived by his widow , Mrs. Ruth O. (Fenn). Tonks; a son, Gerald V. Tonks of Chicago, and two sisters, of Richmond , Canada. Burial was in Lotbrop Cemetery at Barnstable. Samuel Stephenson ol Buz- zards Bay, uniting Eileen Edith Elizabeth Clowory, daughter of Mr. and Mrs . John F. Clowery of this vllluge , ami Allen Thacher Schati- wecker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred- erick C. Schauwecker of Yarmouth . Mr. Clowery gave his daughter in marriage. She was attired In a royal blue suit with gold and white accessories and carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations. Her maid of honor, Miss Harriet Wilds , also of Yarmouth , selected a tan tweed suit with black accessories and carried and old-fashioned bou- quet in pastel shades. Herbert Emrlch of Yarmouthport was best man for* Mr. Schauwecker and ushers were Harold Ellis and Lawrence Smith of that village. Vocal solos were offered by Mrs. Bryce Clowery, sister-in-law of the bride, who chose "Because" and "Through the Years." She was ac- companied by Harold Andrews , Jr. of Centerville at the organ. Bouquets of white carnations, snapdragon and gladioli decorated the church for tbe ceremony, which was immediately followed by a re- ception at Barnstable Woman 's Clubhouse. After a short wedding trip, the newlyweds will make their home temporarily with the bride's par- ents. LOVELL-BEAM WEDDING Tlie former Dorinda Sylvia Lov- ell , wearing a Victorian-style white panne velvet gown, was wed to Dr. Forrest Ream , Jr., son of Mrs. For- rest. Beam of Sanderville, On., In a double-ring ceremony performed Dec. 30 in St. Mary 's Church here, with Bishop Raymond A. Heron and the Rev. Robert Wood Nicholson officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Davis Lovell of this village and was given in mar- riage by her father. Her gown fea- tured seed pearl trimmings at the nock and sleeve tips. A fingertip veil was attached to a while panne velvet coronet and she carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and orchids. Mrs. Geraldine L. Hill , also of Barnstable, was her sister's matron of honor , wearing green velvet with matching coronet and carry- ing a cascade of poinsettlas. Brides- maids were Mrs. H. B. Davidson III, Mrs. H. A. Davidson and Mrs. Achor B. Campbell , Jr., all of Barnstable and Mrs. Arthur E. Pratt , Jr. of Hyannis. Two were gowned in red velvet and the others in green vel- vet. They carried cascades of holly The flower girl , Dorothy M. K. Lovell of Barnstable, younger sis ter of the bride, wore red velvet and a tiara of holly and mistletoe. Dresses of all the bride 's attend- ants were designed after her own. Rest man for Dr. Beam was his brother , Charles S., also of San- derville, and ushers Included Dr. Mario Pires of Valley Fall , R. I., H. B. Davidson III , H. A. Davidson and Herbert M. Lovell, brother of the bride, all of Barnstable. Music was supplied by Mrs. Howard Tracy of West Dennis. After a reception In the Bacon Farm Club, the couple left ror a short automobile trip to Woodstock, Vt., and are making their home In Charleston, S. C, Dr. Beam being stationed at the Naval hospital there. He attended Emory Univer- sity School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., and Is a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, as well as Sig- ma Chi. Formerly supervisor of physical education in , Falmouth schools, the bride attended Howard Seminary in West Bridgewater , Hyannis and Bridgewater Teachers Colleges and Is a member of Lambda Phi Sor- ority. CAMP FIRE SALE A silver tea and food sale will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Women 's Club House from 3 to 5 p.m. Cookies, candies and preserves will be in charge of the Blue Birds.
