Mazda says the five-seat SUV blends a sporty driv- ing experience with the practical needs of carrying passengers and cargo. It is powered by a 244 horse- power, 2.3-liter engine that gets an estimate 23 mpg in combined city and highway driving. The Mazda CX7 is the first of three new ve- hicles coming from Mazda. ¦I Ml mx*. ' -:¦- ¦-• ¦ - m--: ^Part Car-Part Motorcycle Volkswagen has unveiled a three-wheeled concept car.The GX3 is a two-seater that is part-motorcycle, part-car.While it is powered - by a 125 horsepower, 1.6-li- ter four-cylinder engine, the GX3 has a 0-60 mph time of about 5.5 seconds due to its • light weight and can pro- duce lateral acceleration of up to 1.25 g—forces similar to today's performance cars. What's more, this radical ride gets an estimated 46 mpg. While currently AT a concept, Volkswa- ^a* / gen executives said that if the GX3 is well received by the public, it could go on sale in low volume in the U.S. by next year.If put into production, the GX3 would be priced at less than $17,000, according to Volk- swagen executives. asm man am mm SEW ami mss nam am* ^Need To Seat Nine? If you've got a large fam- ily and have been looking for a vehicle to tote them around, then you'll want to check out the new Chevro- let Suburban. Redesigned for 2007, the Suburban seats up to nine passen- gers in three rows and uses displacement on demand fuel technology to get best- in-class mpg ratings. In addition, the 5.3-liter V-8 engine can run on either gasoline or ethanol, or a combination of the two. The 2007 Chevrolet Sub- urban goes on sale this summer. Hot Rod Porsche As if any Porsche doesn't offer enough performance, the company now offers a hot rodded version of its Cayenne SUV.The /\ Porsche Cayenne ^\ P Turbo S is powered by a 520 horsepower, 4.5-liter V-8 that achieves 0-60 mile-per-hour times of 4.8 seconds, according to Porsche. Other enhance- ments over the regular Cayenne include changes to the all-wheel-drive and stability management sys- tems, as well as upgraded brakes and performance tires. The 2006 Porsche Cayenne S has a retail price of $111,600. mm mm m mm MM mm MM MM MM <9> VW Vans Built By Chrysler Chrysler willbe building minivansfor Volkswagen. Chrysler willintroduce its redesigned line of minivans next year as 2008 models, and the Volkswagen /\ versions willbe based on ^^y those models, but willfeature their own unique styling. Volkswagen's current CEO, Wolfgang Bernhard, is the former COO of the Chrysler Group. Chrysler alsohas an agreement with Mitsubishi to build its Raider pickup, which is a derivative of the Dodge Dakota. MM MM :.:"^ MM MM WSa *a» sass «f«5 t? Limited Edition Maybach Maybach has introduced a high-performance version of its 57.-The Maybach 57 Sis powered by a 604 horse- -y- power, twin-turbo V-12 <«*> engine that produces 738 foot-pounds of torque. The limited edition car comes in either black or silver and features 20-inch wheels. All Maybach cars are built by hand and to the customer's specifications. Each vehicle takes about five months to build. The Maybach 57 S has a sticker price of $369,750. Maybach is the ultra-luxury subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz. All Hights |f|8jfe Reserved. ^& r\7 Solstice Gets More Power Pontiac's super-hot Solstice is about to get hotter. The company recently unveiled a perfor- mance version of the roadster. The Solstice GXP features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 260 horsepower and 260 foot-pounds of torque. The 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP is expected to start at around $25,000. It will go on sale this summer. i W>BMW Debuts M6 BMW has debuted its M6. The high-performance version of the 6-Series, the M6 has a race-inspired drivetrain , including a 500 horsepower, V-10 engine and a seven-speed sequential manual gearbox. To further improve performance , the M6 uses several aluminum body panels and a carbon fiber roof. It will be priced at $96,795.
