Ten editions of Benjamin Franklin's
Autobiography will be on view at Stur-
gis Library on Route 6A in Barnstable
village through February. The exhibit
marks the tercentennary of the birth
of Franklin, whose unfinished book
went through a variety of posthu-
mous changes. The collection, which
was featured in Antiques Roadshow
Insider, is owned by Renee and Mark
Roberts, proprietors of Roses Books
and the Clock and Rose Press in
Harwich Port.
Book sales in Osterville
The Osterville Free Library, 43 Wi-
anno Avenue, holds a book sale Jan.
18 from 9 a.m. to noon and Jan. 21
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WB story hour Thursday
mornings
Ages 3 to 5 are invited to attend
story hour at Whelden Library in West
Barnstable Thursday mornings from

invited to play board games from 4
to 6 p.m.

Eastham Public Library
The Eastham Public Library has
weekly storytime every Friday at
10:30 a.m. for children up to age 5. A
craft session follows. The library also
hosts a monthly "Magic The Gather-
ing" trading card game program for
ages 11 and up the first Tuesday of
each month from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.

What's up at the Cahoon?
The Cahoon Museum of American
Art, 4676 Route 28 in Cotuit, offers
docent tours every Friday at 11 a.m.
Classes include Sailor's Valentine,
folk painting, watercolor, bird carving

Cape Cod Art Association
The Cape Cod Art Association,
3480 Route 6A in Barnstable, is offer-
ing courses in watercolor painting, oil
painting, life drawing, digital photog-
raphy and more. The Association is
accepting student members ages 14
to 22 with a membership fee of $15
a year, which includes discounts on
classes, newsletter subscription and
ability to exhibit and sell work. Art-
ists and associates exhibit at Sturgis
Library through Jan. 16. Jane Eccles
demonstrates photo transfer Jan.
13 at 12:30 p.m. A digital workshop
is held Jan. 14 and 15 from 9 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. when Bob and David
Singer lead. Photographic fundamen-
tals and techniques is on the agenda
Jan. 19 when a six-week session of

Cotuit Center for the Arts
The Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404

Unitarian Church
A winter-inspired exhibit is on
display through January at the Barn-
stable Unitarian Church.
Cape Cod Conservatory
Registration is open for the Cape
Cod Conservatory Fine and Performing
Arts classes. Programs offered include
studio art classes, an instrument sam-
pler for young children, "Broadway for
Girls," "Art in the Afternoon," mono-
type, drawing and more. Students of

mouth
Artists from Eastwind Gallery in
Orleans exhibit their work Jan. 15
through March 10 at Mayflower Place ,

Members of the Cape Cod View
finders Camera Club show their
photography through Jan. 31 at Snow
Library, Main St. in Orleans. A recep-

Student art exhibit
Adult art students of Richard Ken-
erson from the Academy of Perform-
ing Arts, 120 Main St. in Orleans,
exhibit their works through Feb. 5. A
reception is held Jan. 17 from 5:30 to
7 p.m. The instructor leads a colored
pencil class on Wednesdays from

include papermaking, bookmaking,

Provincetown art
museum open
The newly-renovated and expanded
Provincetown Art Museum at 460
Commercial St. is open. Works by
Charles Hawthorne, Hans Hofman,
Edward Hopper, Robert Motherwell
and others will be on display through
Jan. 22.
New at Cape Cod
Museum of Art
Fall classes and workshops for kids
include comic book design, drawing,
fun with clay, ocean art, watercolor,
monster making, art club and more
at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in
Dennis. Adult studio classes this fall
include white line printmaking, 3-D
assemblage, stained glass, compo-
sition and color harmony painting,
basic drawing, enameling, more. Paul
Schulenburg and John Grillo exhibit
through Feb. 26 in celebration of the
museum's 25th anniversary. Roberta
Hurlburt exhibits assemblages of
found art Jan. 14 through March 19.
Jane Lincoln displays her cranberry
bog paintings through Feb. 19. Prints
by Will Barnet can be seen through

Camera club at art
association
The Cape Cod Art Association,
Route 6A in Barnstable has a camera
club. Meetings are at 7 p.m. every
other Thursday at the CCAA when
there will be guest speakers , cri-
tiques, contests , workshops , photo
sessions and more.
Group for youths
The Barnstable Youth Commission
and its Youth Empowered Through
Learning Leadership advisory group
meet at 2 p.m. every first and third
Thursday in room 2108 at Barnstable
High School when ages 13 through
19 are invited to discuss issues af-
fecting the young people of Barn-
stable.
German-American Club
members meet
Members of the German-American
Club generally meet the second Sat-
urday at the Fraternal Lodge in Cen-
terville. New members are welcome.
Take in an evening of dinner, dancing
to live music and some "Gemuetlich-

Barnstable Newcomers
Club meetings
The Barnstable Newcomers Club
welcomes all Barnstable residents
to meetings held the third Wednes-
day of the month at the Barnstable
Senior Center, 825 Falmouth Road in
Hyannis, at 7:30 p.m. Meetings in-
clude a speaker and a social gather-
ing. Annual membership is $8.
Contradances in Cotuit
A Contradance is held the second
Saturday of every month at Freedom
Hall, 976 Main St. in Cotuit, with live
music by John Alden & Friends. Be-
ginners and singles are welcome and
soft-soled shoes are recommended.
All dances begin at 8 p.m. Admission
